A one-of-a-kind ensemble, unparalleled in the world. The orchestra has:
• All kinds of old musical instrument gusli: ringing (yarovchatiye) – piccolo, prima, alto; plucked (psalterium); keyboard (orchestral), Mari gusli and Armenian kanon.
• Harmonicas, accordions, folk winds, some instruments for symphony (brass and wood winds, piano) and light music orchestra.

Founded in 1988 by Ministry for Culture of the Russian Federation as Chamber orchestra of guslars, part of Moscow Region Philharmonic. In 1994 received the name Guslars of Russia by the Government as state ensemble of the Ministry for Culture of Moscow region.

The orchestra won awards: Slavic Bazaar (Vitebsk), Jade Dragon (China), Crystal Apple (Smolensk), Sadko (Moscow).

Touring geography: Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, China, Italy.

The repertoire includes: Renditions of folk songs and tunes, works by contemporary composers, russian and foreign classical works in original arrangements for a gusli orchestra.

Concert genres: Big Christmas recital, russian classical music, foreign classical music, russian folk music, music by contemporary composers, evening of Russian romance, soundtracks from films, songs from the repertoire of Leonid Utyosov, Georgy Vinogradov, Klavdiya Shulzhenko, Matvey Blanter, wartime songs.
