MRP partakes in Art Night

MRP’s ensembles presented a series of recitals as part of Russian Art Night campaign, also marking Year of Russian Cinema.

On 3 November Dmitrov Kremlin hosted “Music Journey”, a performance by “Russian Timbre” ensemble featuring classical and jazz music: the first part of “Winter” concerto from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”, Cavatina di Figaro from Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville”, Piazzolla’s tango, and retro music, all the works arranged by artistic leader Vyacheslav Kuzminsky. Accompanied by “Russian Timbre”, soloist Julia Pilipovich presented songs from well-known films and folk songs.

Another performance on the same day was delivered by “Sadko” ensemble at school no. 1451 (Moscow). Popular songs, original folk orchestra pieces, solo instrumental works, and some vibrant choreographic pieces were performed under the baton of Denis Zabavsky.

On 5 November Gorki Leninskiye Museum hosted “Screen Music”, a recital presented by pianist, award winner of international contests, MRP’s soloist Oleg Kalagurov featuring MRP’s soloist Julia Pilipovich (vocal) and Lilia Morozova (vocal, presenter). Mr. Kalagurov opened the evening with the piano transcription of Artemiev’s Main Theme and Waltz for Maria from Mikhalkov’s Oscar-winning “Burnt by the Sun” and went on to perform music by celebrated Russian cinema composers (Isaac Dunayevsky, Maxim Dunayevsky, Andrey Petrov, Mark Minkov, Alexander Zatsepin, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Michael Tariverdiev). Well-known and well-loved soundtracks from “Circus”, “The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath”, “Seventeen Moments of Spring”, “Amphibian Man”, “Cruel Romance”, “The Barber of Siberia”, and other films were played.
