The Music Woods

The Music Woods

MRP presents "The Music Woods, or How Ivanushka Saved His Bride", an interactive performance delivering education and entertainment.

Youngsters will embark on a journey inspired by Russian fairy tales. Together with brave Ivanushka they will have to face hardships, make friends, and solve riddles in order to save Mashenka from the tower where she's been locked up by Kashchei the Deathless.

The performance is devised to introduce children to folk musical instruments: zhaleyka, gusli, accordion, spoons, trumpet, domra, ratchet, pipe, balalaika, tumbrel, horn, and bayan. As soon as kids name each instrument, Ivanushka will rescue Mashenka.

New Year’s performances also feature Father Frost and Snow Maiden.
