Culture Center named after Lubov Orlova presents
TRIPLE ANNIVERSARY – RUSSIAN JAZZ ELDERS TURN 70

On 13 and 14 December 2014 Culture Center named after Lubov Orlova for the fourth time hosts “Jazz in Zvenigorod”. Carrying on traditions of previous festivals, it creates a setting for encountering various styles and trends of this musical genre.

“Jazz in Zvenigorod” is within a range of festivals held in several cities across Russia: Arkhangelsk, Kazan, Yaroslavl, Orenburg and others.

The 4th jazz summit features three anniversary programs of renowned Russian jazz musicians Igor Bril, David Goloshekin, and Boris Frumkin, each of them celebrating their 70th birthday this year. “Triple anniversary” presents jazz masterpieces and works written by the three illustrious improvising musicians.

The program of the festival promises guests and participants the most pleasant impressions from encounters with optimistic and vibrant jazz music.

Concerts are presented by acknowledged member of jazz community, journalist and jazz commentator Vladimir Kaushansky.

People’s Artist of Russia IGOR BRIL is an outstanding jazz pianist, composer, mentor, professor at Gnessin Russian Academy of Music, one of the pioneers of professional jazz education in Russia. He is among the musicians who discovered jazz rock and fusion using electronic instruments.

People’s Artist of Russia DAVID GOLOSHEKIN is one of the leading figures in contemporary Russian jazz, a composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist playing the violin, piano, vibraphone, fluegelhorn, saxophone, and other instruments. Featured in international jazz festivals, a poet of jazz mainstream, a key figure in St. Petersburg’s jazz scene. His career spans over 50 years.

People’s Artist of Russia BORIS FRUMKIN is a brilliant jazz pianist, composer, arranger, artistic director and chief conductor of State chamber orchestra of jazz music named after Oleg Lundstrem. His career took off in 1966, when he was featured in the Second Moscow jazz festival with his quintet.

CLASS CENTRE BAND. Artistic leader – Sergey Kazarnovsky, conductor – Roman Sokolov. Class Centre is a one-of-a-kind spot on the cultural map of Moscow. A school where kids sing, dance, study the art of theatre and cinema, and play jazz. In 2007 Class Centre was acclaimed as the best school in Russia. The orchestra’s repertoire encompasses pieces of various styles, from jazz masterpieces to avant-garde.

Each concert lasts for 1 hour 40 minutes, two parts with a break.
