Maxim Dunayevsky gives concert in Voskresensk

On 14 March Moscow Region Philharmonic presented another gala concert of the distinguished composer Maxim Dunayevsky at the community centre of Voskresensk town. The composer spent the entire evening playing the piano. Along with friends, renowned artists and musicians, he performed his most popular songs ˗ soundtracks from films "The Three Musketeers", "Oh vaudeville", "Mary Poppins, Goodbye", and "Carnival", animation "The Flying Ship", as well as the songs of his father, Isaac Dunayevsky.

Dmitry Kharatyan, an illustrious theatre and cinema actor, singer and TV host joined the maestro. Accompanied by the music of Maxim Dunayevsky's and "Cocktail project" band, he performed a few songs by the composer, including soundtracks from the film "The Green Van" – "Where are you, July?" and "Twentieth year". His own guitar accompaniment has given a special touch to the performance.

The actor and composer excelled both as performers and storytellers, narrating comic and tragic, educating and entertaining stories on filmmaking and songwriting, stories featuring famed artists, giving the audience a thrill. Kharatyan revealed that it was Vladimir Vysotsky who initially intended to do the film "The Green Van". And the song "Where are you, July?" written to the lyrics of Naum Olev is related to the tragic July of 1980, when Vysotsky passed away.

Angelina Sergeyeva, a gifted singer, participant of projects "People's Artist – 3" and "Voice – 2", award winner of national and international contests, was also featured in the anniversary tour. Her duet with Kharatyan singing Isaac Dunayevsky's song "How many beautiful girls" was truly remarkable, as well as the closing song – "The Wind of Change".

The packed hall of the community centre was singing along with the artists throughout the evening. As the performance came to an end spectators took autographs, gave flowers, and spoke words of praise for the fascinating concert.
