Concert of sacramental music “Hallelujah”

Today, on 19 April 2015 "New Jerusalem", a museum and exhibition centre, hosted a concert of sacramental music titled "Hallelujah". The program featured ensemble of Moscow Region Philharmonic "Instrumental Capella" (artistic director – Honoured Artist of Russia Alexander Ghindin, chief conductor - Rinat Biktashev) and Chamber choir of Choral Art Academy named after Popov (artistic director – Rinat Biktashev). Soloists – Alexandra Sokolova (soprano), Alexander Eremeev (tenor), Igor Podoplelov (bass). Conductor - Rinat Biktashev.

The concert was marking the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. As a tribute to those killed in the war sacramental works were performed written by Russian and foreign composers: Dmitry Bortniansky, Sergey Rakhmaninoff, Giulio Caccini, Franz Schubert. The concert was opened by Mozart's "A Little Night Music" and closed by one of the most renowned church works by the composer, motet "Ave Verum".

The program included luminous liturgical compositions: "Te Deum" by D. Bortniansky, "Rejoice, O Virgin" by S. Rakhmaninoff, "Ave Maria" by G. Caccini, and Меsse G-dur by F. Schubert, each of them imbued with gratitude, faith, and glory.
