A tribute to Galina Rozhdestvenskaya

On 21 April 2015 Schelkovo regional culture centre hosted a concert in memory of Galina Rozhdestvenskaya, People's Artist of Russia, professor, conductor and choirmaster of Academic choir of Russian song of radio and TV. A program of choral music had been prepared to mark the 90th anniversary of the artist.

The concert featured ensemble of Moscow Region PhilharmonicState Academic Choir named after Kozhevnikov (artistic director and chief conductor – Nikolay Azarov). The program included works written Pavel Chesnokov "The Angel Cried Out" (conductor – Ivan Nuzhin), Georgy Sviridov "The Herd of Horses", and Ukrainian folk song "Oh Oak, Oak Tree" (conductor – Bogdan Petrenko).

The concert was held as part of the 11th International festival of arts "Zvezdny" organized by Yuri Rozum International Charity Foundation of with the participation of the Ministry of Culture of Moscow region. The festival aims at performing classical pieces in both big cities and small towns, bringing aspiring ensembles together with the ones that have already succeeded, and introducing audiences to renowned musicians.
