Festival “Spring in Klin” opened

On 25 April 2015 State Memorial Tchaikovsky Museum hosted the concert opening International Music Festival titled "Spring in Klin". The concert featured ensemble of Moscow Region Philharmonic – State Academic Moscow region choir named after Kozhevnikov (artistic director and chief conductor – Nikolay Azarov) and Moscow chamber orchestra "Musica Viva" (artistic director and chief conductor – Alexander Rudin).

The program included choruses from opera "The Queen of Spades" and cantata "To Joy" based on the ode by F. Schiller. Tchaikovsky wrote this cantata for his graduation exams at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. It's symbolic that the first profound work of the composer, the beginning of his creative career, was opening the festival held as a tribute to him.
