“Russian Timbre” at opening of “Spring in Melikhovo” festival

"Spring in Melikhovo" is on!

From 16 to 23 May 2015 State Memorial Chekhov Museum "Melikhovo" hosts 16th International Theatre Festival "Spring in Melikhovo". It features theatre ensembles from Spain, Latvia, Israel, Moldova, and Russia.

The opening ceremony took place on 16 May as part of the event "Museum Night". The festivity was marking 120th anniversary of play by Chekhov "The Seagull".

The music program featured "Russian Timbre", ensemble of bayans of Moscow Region Philharmonic. Musicians presented foreign and Russian masterpieces in the original frame of arrangements by artistic director Vyacheslav Kuzminsky. Due to unusual sounding of timbre bayans and one-of-a-kind orchestrations familiar works acquired new colors. The concert program unveiled all the beauty of a single instrument soloing and ensemble mastery of artists.
