Day of Slavic Writing and Culture

On 24 May 2015 the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture is observed. Celebrations are held as a tribute to saints Cyril and Methodius, authors of Slavic alphabet who influenced greatly the evolvement of Slavic writing and translated the New Testament.

All the capitals of territorial entities of Russian Federation will see simultaneous festivities at the main squares with the same repertory. Live TV broadcasts will bring the concert venues together.

In Moscow the concert will be given at Red Square. The program will feature ensemble of Moscow Region Philharmonic, State Academic Moscow region choir named after Kozhevnikov. Artistic director and chief conductor – Nikolay Azarov.

Concert "Nutcracker. Award Winners" is given to mark the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. The performance will be held on 24 May at 1 pm at culture house named after Lenin of Krasnoarmeysk town.
