Ivanov brothers and Alyabyev Quartet open subscription How is music born? The art of improvisation

On 14 November at the Chamber hall of MIHM the Centre for Ethnic Music Development and Alyabyev Quartet launched children's subscription series How is music born? The art of improvisation. The musicians performed miscellaneous works: classics, jazz, folk, and contemporary compositions synthesizing these genres. The program was made up mostly of works by the Centre's artistic leader Mikhail Ivanov. After the concert the spectators were able to voice their thoughts and ideas evoked by the presented pieces: How do they feel music of this or that kind? How does a mood emerge? Artist Maria Berezina, who was onstage during the concert creating real-time pictures inspired by the compositions, also expressed her perspective.
