How is Music Born: recital at Roman Catholic Cathedral

On 16 April MRP's Centre for Ethnic Music Development presented a recital titled "How is Music Born" at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Holy Virgin Mary at Malaya Gruzinskaya street.

The recital featured original and sacred music played at the old organ, contemporary instrument Russian Sophia belfry (by Mikhail Ivanov), folk instruments (gusli, domra) and chamber orchestra.

Performers: Honored Artists of Russia, leader of MRP's Centre for Ethnic Music Development Mikhail Ivanov (Russian Sophia belfry) and Andrey Ivanov (double bass solo), Marina Omelchenko (organ), Denis Shvytov (saxophone), Polina Orbakh (vocal), Anastasiya Boldyreva (soprano), soloists of Russkiye Uzory and Sadko ensembles, Instrumental Capella, conductor Oleg Tarasov.

Artist Maria Berezina was working online, making enthralling pictures to accompany the music.
