Moscow Regional Philharmonic, based in Moscow, is moving to a venue in “Barvikha Luxury Village”, a multi-purpose complex, up until the end of the year 2014, Interfax was told by the press agency of the Department for Culture in the Moscow region.
“Up till the end of the year Moscow Regional Philharmonic will move to Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. The space of the new venue “Barvikha Luxury Village” can be reconfigured easily to create both an intimate atmosphere and an air of grandeur when organizing concerts and shows,” the press agency reported.
According to the Department for Culture, the philharmonic’s concert activity will consist of two parts. The first part is regular concerts by home ensembles and guest partners, whereas the second part is target projects covering various topics.
The report mentions an educational children’s project with the use of modern technologies, including “Tale in Russian Music” with video projections. A symphonic project observing anniversaries of the composers Dunayevskys is also being prepared for the new season. The 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be highlighted.
“Now we can surely say that the restoration of Moscow Regional Philharmonic will make a huge difference to the musical life of the region. A modern concert organization growing rapidly will define the cultural image of the Moscow region to a large extent,” points out the Culture Minister of the Moscow region Oleg Rozhnov, as quoted in the report.
