“I’LL WHISPER TO MY FORTUNE – MERCI BEACOUP!”

To mark the 70th anniversary of Maxim Dunayevsky, Honored Artist of Russia, a series of concerts was given across the Moscow region in April and May 2015 as part of the composer's anniversary tour. The events were arranged by Moscow Region Philharmonic. The anniversary tour was supported by the Ministry for Culture of Moscow region.

Maxim Dunayevsky appeared on stage not merely as a host and a performer, but also as a conversation partner unfolding the wonderful world of music to the audience. The program featured popular songs from films "D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers", "Oh Vaudeville", "Mary Poppins, Goodbye!", "Carnival", and soundtrack for animation "The Flying Ship". The whirl of favorite tunes captured the audience, winning their appreciation. These and more masterpieces were performed by distinguished artists and musicians – friends of the composer:

The anniversary tour culminated in a gala concert given on 4 June at Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

The program featured soundtracks for films, symphonic poem "Lament and Death of Julia", and other works by the composer.

Cantata "Rejoice in the Sun"for mixed choir, symphony orchestra, and three soloists based on church verse by anonymous 18th and 19th century poets became a vivid introduction to the concert. The piece was performed by one of Russia's leading musical ensembles – State academic choir capella of Russia named after Yurlov. Artistic director and chief conductor – Honored Arts Worker of Russia Gennady Dmitryak.

Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra, which Dunayevsky had collaborated with, provided accompaniment for the gala concert. Artistic director and chief conductor – People's Artist of Russia Sergey Skripka.
