Russkiye Uzory orchestra

Zozulya

Artistic director and chief conductor –
People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Zozulya

The orchestra consists of award winners of national and international competitions, People's and Honored Artists of Russia. The distinctive feature of the ensemble is that along with standard instruments for Russian music orchestra (domra, balalaika, bayan etc.) it uses about two hundred lesser known old authentic instruments: winds – zhaleika (hornpipe), bryolka (hoboe), rozhok (horn), svirel (flute), whistle; percussions – treshchotka (clapper), barabanka, lozhki (spoons), rubel, khlopushka, kokoshnik etc. The orchestra revives the traditions of wandering minstrels, which makes it a truly folk ensemble.
