Instrumental Capella presents Symphony no. 14 by Shostakovich

On 20 January the Small Hall of Moscow Conservatory hosted a recital in the memory of prominent conductor, soloist, teacher, Russia's Man of Arts, Honored Artist of Belarus, and professor of Moscow Conservatory Vitaly Katayev. Stories about the master's life and art were accompanied by documentary videos and musical pieces performed by excellent artists. The program featured MRP's Instrumental Capella. The ensemble performed Symphony no. 14 by Shostakovich, which is a rare occasion in this country. The score that's complicated in terms of technique, emotions, and images was played brilliantly, followed by a long ovation. The recital was closed by Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, Act II Finale, performed by the orchestra with leading soloists of Helicon opera and Musical Theatre of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko.
