“We Will Remember. Encounter at the Elbe”

On 25 April 2015 International military and patriotic festival titled "We Will Remember. Encounter at the Elbe", marking the 70th anniversary of Great Victory, took place in Noginsk. It has been a tribute to one of the major events of World War II, the meeting of Soviet and American army at the river Elbe. Festivities were being held simultaneously at German town Torgau. Teleconference between Germany and Russia linked the venues together.

Field kitchen, exhibitions of military equipment, waltz and tango workshops, and a lot more activities were organized in Noginsk to help feel the vibe of that era. A charity campaign collecting funds for "Life as a Miracle" foundation was held. "Gardens of Victory", a campaign paying tribute to war heroes, was launched to plant thousands of trees by September 2015.

The program featured the most renowned Russian artists, including those of Moscow Region Philharmonic: ensemble of bayanists "Russian Timbre", soloists Yuliya Pilipovich and Yuliya Zhuravleva performing popular wartime songs. The festival also featured military bands, Culture Centre for Armed Forces, Moscow Cossack Choir, and participants of TV contests.
