Concerts to celebrate Victory Day

On 9 May 2015 at the day of the 70th anniversary of Great Victory, the ensembles of Moscow Region Philharmonic gave successful concerts. Different venues across Moscow and Moscow region hosted: State academic orchestra of soloists "Russkiye Uzory" , State ensemble of Russian music and dance "Sadko", and State orchestra "Guslars of Russia" .

Traditionally on 9 May festivities were held at the city's squares and parks, attended by audiences of different ages – children, their parents and the main participants of celebrations, the veterans.

The concerts featured popular wartime songs and tunes: "Here the Soldiers Go", "Cranes", "On the Sunny Clearing", "On My Way from Berlin", "Let's Smoke", "A Letter from the 45th", "Ballad about a Soldier", the tunes that have been widely known up till these days. The audience joyously sang along with the performers to remember the heroes of the past.

The orchestras also performed instrumental pieces: old waltz "The Amur Waves", "March" by Georgy Sviridov from musical illustrations to Pushkin's "Snow Storm", "March of the Preobrazhensky Regiment", and others. "Sadko" ensemble presented vivid dancing pieces to audiences: "Suburban Moscow Dance", "Varenka", "Naparochka", "Cossack Dance". Every program featured the musical symbols of the holiday – "Farewell of Slavyanka", "Let's Bow Down to Those Great Years" and the legendary song by David Tukhmanov "Victory Day".
