Andrew Ivanov plays at Bass and orchestra recital

On 9 November the Grand Hall of St. Petersburg Philharmonic hosts a one-of-a-kind recital bringing together bass musicians playing various instruments in a multitude of genres, from classical Bach and Albeniz to contemporary composers, folk music, and jazz.

Bass instruments have always been considered bulky, capable of little more than just providing bass. However, you'll be able to hear a virtuoso playing of these instruments, which have far greater capabilities. Balalaika double bass of Mikhail Dzyudze and double basses of Alexander Shilo and Andrew Ivanov, bass guitar of Anton Davidyants and bass flute of Georgy Dolgov, enchanting throat singing of Battulga Vanchindorch and classical opera bass of Askar Abdrazakov will be presented at the Philharmonic accompanied by Terema orchestra of national instruments.
