Mr. Dunayevsky: “Serious musical genres should be widely available”

People's Artist of Russia Maxim Dunayevsky is one of the most sought-after contemporary composers. His music is well-known and well-loved across the country. Whenever his name is mentioned, a string of familiar songs, including those featured in films, comes to mind. The year 2015 has been very eventful for the composer, who celebrated his 70th anniversary and premiered musicals "Adventurer's Diary" in St. Petersburg and "Jolly Fellows" in Yekaterinburg. Mr. Dunayevsky has also been appointed artistic director of Moscow Region Philharmonic. In his interview to "Musical Journal" Dunayevsky talked about choosing a profession, about music in the cinema, artistic plans and objectives of the philharmonic, about his attitude to yellow PR and about working in classical genres.
