Andrey Petrenko: “I see great prospects in uniting instrumental and choral music”

Honored Russia's Man of Arts, chief choirmaster of Mariinsky theatre Andrey Petrenko in the new season has become artistic leader of MRP's chamber orchestra Instrumental Capella. He was conducting at the philharmonic's season opener at the Grand Hall of the Conservatory, where Tchaikovsky's Iolanta was presented. In his interview Mr. Petrenko talks about working with the orchestra, the job of a conductor, contemporary opera, Mariinsky theatre, and other issues.
